-We practised the girls' new memory work from Awana clubs.
-The girls coloured.
-We sorted the pictures of food the girls cut out yesterday into the four different food groups. We then took three plates and designated one for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner. The girls chose pictures of food to create meals for each of the plates. We talked about what makes a meal balanced. We looked at the Canadian Food Guide and discussed it. They then fed Gregory the Goat (who we made yesterday) the healthiest breakfast, lunch and dinner that they could think of. We talked about what their favourite foods are from each of the food groups. At lunch and supper time, we talked about which groups the food we were eating came from.
-Astrid had her ballet class.
-The girls pretended that Muirgen was a little girl without a mother or father who Astrid found in our garden. Astrid loved and cared for her for the rest of the evening.
-We read a couple story books in the bath.

hi rach - did you know there's a new canada food guide out now? just came out; i have no idea how it differs from the old one as i haven't looked at it yet. i saw it on the wall at the hospital while i was there with maya, but it's likely available somewhere on the net. i love hearing what you do with your kids all day; it helps me form ideas of my own. thanks for sharing.
