-Astrid laid around under the Christmas tree day dreaming.
-We baked chocolate mint sandwich cookies for the cookie exchange tomorrow at PEG.

-Astrid played with virtual paper dolls on the computer.
-We found a bag full of circles cut out of old Christmas cards, which I think came from my mom's and were intended to be used for some sort of craft. Astrid sorted them all out and then had me write a list of things which appeared in the pictures for her to sound out. I listed 15 words. She made it through the first ten before getting frustrated and quitting.
-Muirgen played with Ello (a building system that inolves stacking shapes with holes in them on little poles), the train track set, and her babies and stroller.
-Astrid sorted the hair accessories and put as many of them as she could in her hair (about 20).
-She looked at library books.
-We went through all the papers containing work and pictures the girls have done and organized them in binders.
-The girls helped make macaroni and cheese and steamed broccoli for supper.
-We read a couple story books, as well as a story from the Prince and Princesses book.

-Muirgen helped hang up laundry.
-Girls played with paper dolls, colouring books, the Noah's ark set and their felt board sets.
-Worked on making our Christmas gifts. Talked about fractions as we were dividing a recipe in half.
-Muirgen spent a lot of time dancing.
-Astrid played in her room for a while. Not sure what she was doing, but I could hear her singing a song that went something like this: "I am the most strongest girl. I am the most toughest girl. I am the most bravest girl. I know everything. If you'd like to know something, come to me and I will teach you..."
-Girls played outside in the snow.
-They made angels out of cut out bell shapes.
-Astrid did a "B is for bell" puzzle on the computer.-We looked at the calendar and counted the days until Jason's birthday.
-Swimming lessons. For some reason Muirgen refused to go in the water tonight. She just sat on the edge of the pool for the whole class. Thankfully their teacher is very good about not pushing them to do what they don't want to do. This was their last lesson until January (assuming we can get a spot - we're on the waiting list right now).

-The girls helped with hanging, folding and putting away laundry.
-They played together, creating imaginary scenarios, most of which had to do with Christmas.
-Walked to music class in the pouring rain - not overly fun. Our umbrellas kept getting blown inside out due to the heavy winds and we were soaked. It is December now. I wish it were snow that was falling! Today was our last music class. The kids listened to songs that switched from major to minor keys and did different dances for each key, among other activities.
-The girls danced around to Christmas music.
-We had a discussion about what soul music is, as one of our Christmas CDs has a song called 'A Soul Christmas' on it. Talked about how our friend Bonnie performed the song 'Soul Man' in the play Cinderella that we saw last weekend. We got out a James Brown CD to listen to more soul music. The girls danced to it.
-They made finger paintings.
-Observed a beautiful rainbow. Talked a bit about how rainbows happen. Muirgen wanted to go over to the street where the rainbow was, so we talked about how you can never get to a rainbow.
-Worked on our Christmas gifts.
-Girls helped make fettucine alfredo for supper.
-They hung out with Jason for the evening since I went for dinner at Ann's place with a bunch of women from Next.

-Sat on our porch for an hour and a half because I locked us out of the house. Wouldn't you know it, Jason was late. He called and left a message saying he'd be late, but of course we couldn't get it.
-Went out for supper since I was unable to make any being locked out.
